Donated Dental Services

Donated Dental Services

The Donated Dental Services (DDS) at the Virginia Dental Association Foundation provides free, comprehensive dental treatment to our state's most vulnerable - older adults, individuals with disabilities, and individuals who are medically fragile. These are people who cannot afford necessary treatment. The program operates through a volunteer network of dentists, oral surgeons, and dental labs across the State of Virginia.

The Virginia Dental Association Foundation would like to thank the following organizations for their support of the Donated Dental Services program.

Why should I become a volunteer dentist?

Participation could not be easier. Dentists and labs take care of the patients. DDS does everything else. No headaches, no red tape. A DDS care coordinator is the liaison between the patient, the labs and the dentists, answering any and all questions and assisting everyone throughout the process. The goal of DDS is to return patients to good oral health, enabling them to reach a maintenance level.  DDS is a great way for dentists to give back to their communities and help those in need.

Vdaf Success Stories

PG_1

“P.G. grew up in New Jersey, the son of immigrant parents, and in 1944, barely of age, he enlisted in the army, specifically the paratroopers. P.G. was on only his second combat jump when he was captured by German troops and placed briefly in a concentration camp. By the grace of God, this was April,1945, and in approximately one month this camp was liberated by the allies, and P.G. survived.
