Board of Directors, Virginia Dental Association Foundation

Michelle McGregor has been a faculty member in the School of Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) since 2005 and currently serves as the Director of Community and Collaborative Partnerships. In this role, she facilitates the school’s involvement in community outreach activities and participation in the Mission of Mercy (MOM) projects. She also directs a service-learning course overseeing fourth year dental and dental hygiene students rotating to multiple safety-net and free clinics in the commonwealth. Through this work, she advances access to oral health care for marginalized populations while deepening students’ understanding of social determinants of health and oral health disparities.

Prior to relocating to Richmond, Michelle worked as dental assistant, dental hygienist and dental hygiene educator in Rochester, New York. She was excited to join the VCU School of Dentistry family. She has directed several courses at the school and served as the VCU Dental Hygiene Program Director for almost ten years. A member of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) since 2006, she has contributed service on the Council of Allied Program Directors Planning Committee, the Council of Allied Dental Program Directors Administrative Board and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Special Interest Group. In 2014, she was appointed as a site visitor consultant for the Commission on Dental Accreditation and served as the President of the Virginia Dental Hygienists' Association 2014-2015. She remains actively engaged on numerous committees and work groups dedicated to strengthening oral health education, workforce development and access to oral health care.

In her free time, she enjoys time with family and friends, yoga, golfing, being outdoors and relaxing at Kerr Lake.
