I’m delighted to join the staff of this small but mighty organization! I’m a lifelong RVA-er, with a stop at William & Mary to obtain my bachelor’s degree. Growing up watching LA Law, I toyed with the idea of law school and became a paralegal. However, family and volunteer experiences, and reading “The Firm,” convinced me otherwise. I went back to school to earn my MSW from VCU and have never regretted this decision. Thus far, I’ve spent my social work career in long-term care, short-term rehab, and care management, and have a special place in my heart for our seniors. Along the way, I discovered so much about the value of good oral health for a person’s overall quality of life and well-being…medically and psychosocially. I’m excited to learn even more in my new role at VDAF; get to know our volunteers and clients; and contribute to the VDAF’s mission. Outside of work, my husband and I are relatively new empty nesters, but have two, slightly spoiled fur babies. I enjoy hanging out with family and friends, spending time in the mountains, listening to audio books while crafting, treasure hunting at creative reuse and thrift stores, and splurging on a piece of really good dark chocolate.
